Dental Crowns in Lima

A dental crown (also called a cap) is a custom-made restoration that covers the entire visible portion of a tooth. Crowns are used to protect weak or damaged teeth, restore function after root canal treatment, or improve the appearance of discolored or misshapen teeth.

At Smiles Peru we offer both traditional laboratory-made crowns and same-day CEREC digital crowns.

Types of Crowns offered at Smiles Peru

  • CEREC Same-Day Crowns – Digital CAD/CAM crowns designed and milled in our clinic in a single visit.
  • Zirconia Crowns – Extremely strong and durable. Excellent for back teeth and patients who grind their teeth.
  • E-max / Lithium Disilicate Crowns – Highly aesthetic, translucent crowns ideal for front teeth.
  • Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal (PFM) – Traditional option with a metal substructure for strength.

Benefits of Dental Crowns

  • Protect and strengthen damaged or weakened teeth
  • Restore chewing function and bite
  • Improve appearance and smile aesthetics
  • Long-lasting solution (often 10–20+ years)
  • Prevent the need for extraction in many cases

The Dental Crown Procedure

  • Examination & Planning – Digital X-rays or 3D scan to assess the tooth.
  • Tooth Preparation – The tooth is gently shaped to make room for the crown.
  • Digital Impression – We take a precise digital scan (no messy putty in most cases).
  • Crown Fabrication – CEREC crowns are milled same-day. Laboratory crowns are fabricated in 2–5 days.
  • Final Placement – The permanent crown is cemented or bonded into place.

How long do Teeth Crowns last?

Crowns can last indefinitely if properly cared for. We use only the finest German porcelains and Zirconium, guaranteed to not change color over time.

What are the costs?

In comparison to a common alternative (extraction), crowns are a cost effective way to save a tooth and preserve your smile.  Please see our prices page for current pricing on crowns.
