At Smiles Peru, we understand that many of our patients have dental insurance and want to know how it applies to treatment in Peru. While most U.S. and international insurance plans do not have in-network providers in Peru, we can still help you maximize your benefits.

Below you’ll find information about how we work with insurance, including our participation with the TRICARE Dental Program.

Tricare Dental Program

Smiles Peru is an approved and participating provider for the TRICARE Dental Program.

For eligible active-duty service members, we can bill TRICARE directly. This means:

• No out-of-pocket costs for covered services (subject to TRICARE guidelines)
• We handle the paperwork and claims submission
• You receive treatment without needing to pay upfront and wait for reimbursement

If you are covered under TRICARE and would like to confirm your benefits before treatment, please contact us so we can assist you.

Other Insurance Plans

Most dental insurance plans from the United States, Canada, and other countries are considered out-of-network when treatment is received in Peru.

However, many insurance plans still offer out-of-network reimbursement. In these cases, Smiles Peru can help by providing:

• Detailed invoices
• Treatment descriptions and codes
• Supporting documentation required for claims

While we cannot guarantee reimbursement (as this depends on your specific insurance policy), we will do our best to supply the necessary paperwork to support your claim.

How We Help With Insurance Claims

Here’s how we support patients with insurance:

• We provide clear, itemized invoices with procedure descriptions
• We include dental codes (CDT codes) when requested
• We can prepare documentation in English
• We are available to answer questions from your insurance company if needed

We recommend that you contact your insurance provider before your trip to understand your out-of-network benefits and any requirements for reimbursement.

We accept the following payment methods:

• PayPal
• Bank wire transfer

Full payment is required at the time of service. We will provide all necessary documentation for your records and insurance claims.
