Our Commitment to Biosafety

• Biosafety is a set of preventive measures designed to eliminate the risk of transmission of infectious diseases among patients and staff. Smiles Peru follows all international biosafety rules and protocols regarding specific procedures for disinfection, sterilization and packaging. We have a complete sterilization center with digital autoclave for proper sterilization of instruments and equipment. Our sterilization center was designed to facilitate procedural effectiveness and step-by-step procedures.
• We perform chemical disinfection of instruments, dental equipment and clothing. We thoroughly pre-sterilize instruments, preventing cross-contamination. We use barrier protection (gloves, masks, glasses) at all times. The health of our patients is of paramount importance to us at all times.  Each of our dental units uses only bottled water, which is the only water recommended for consumption in our country. Each member of our medical staff has an updated health cards, verifying their good health.

How we sterilize instruments

Every critical instrument goes through a full process before it is used again:

1. Initial cleaning: Removal of visible debris.
2. Ultrasonic wash: Deep cleaning with ultrasonic technology.
3. Disinfection: Chemical treatment to reduce the microbial load.
4. Digital autoclave sterilization: A validated sterilization cycle at high temperature and pressure.
5. Protected storage: Sterilized instruments are kept in conditions that prevent recontamination.

We have a dedicated sterilization area, separate from the clinical rooms, so the workflow stays orderly and controlled.

Protection during Treatment

During every appointment we also use:

• Personal protective barriers (gloves, masks, eye protection)
• Surface disinfection between patients
• Bottled water in the equipment
• Single-use materials when appropriate
• Staff with current health certificates

These measures significantly reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
